Plein Air Watercolor: Veterans Memorial Museum Liberty Tree, Katy, TX

This week, I loaded up on the bike and zipped out to Veterans of Foreign War post 9182 to see the Katy Veterans Memorial Museum. Bob Lee showed me around and gave me a brief interview so I could share it with you. The museum has areas dedicated to each branch of the military and memorabilia from every generation of the American military history. Their prize display is a set of the Medals of Honor offered by the branches that congress has granted them for display purposes.

Then I spent a pleasant hour or so setting up and sketching their liberty tree

There’s a video at the YouTube if you would like to hear the interview and watch the time lapse sketch:

I am trying to do a mini painting on the face of a playing card every night.  These are some of the things I’m going to start giving them away after the filming of the $2 Tutorials on Thursday nights.  What?!?  You don’t know about the $2 Tutorials?  That happens in the “after show” of The Artistic Biker Live!  If you’re not there on Thursday nights from 6:30 ’til finished, you’re really missing out!

I thought I’d do a little painting tonight.  GET IT?!?   A LITTLE painting?  See the PENNY?   BWAHAHAHAHA. I crack myself up.  No really, I want to do more of these minis.  Not only are they great little sellers, but they’re great little give aways! Art & stuff 22MAY2013

image

Wednesday and Thursday are the last two official class days with the Leadership Arts.  I’ve really had a lot of fun getting to know some of these folks and look forward to working with them on more projects.

We spent today at the Istvan Gallery on Oklahoma City. They share the space with working glass artist’s and spent the time between sessions watching them teach.
