The little girl was feeling empathy for her mom today. We lost a dear friend and the bride is pretty sad about it. So she drew her something Halloweeny. We might be strange, but we understand each other. :)

Tonight was an impromptu workshop on how to draw fur.
The hardest part of this process is waiting for the layers to dry.
While the paint was drying, I took the opportunity to decoupage some of Girl2’s love notes to the studio fridge.
These are my results from the workshop. Of course you knew I had to draw a cat.

What happens with the money when you donate or buy t-shirts and lessons?
On the first Saturday of every month we host a free art experience for the community children. This month, Sue was helping the children make collages.
We had 12 registered this month and a few siblings sat in as well. After watching how much fun the kids were having, the parents approached us for a grown up version. Some day, we hope to make that happen.

Watercolor Wednesday 04DEC2013
I’ve decided to use Wednesdays as an opportunity to hone my watercolor skills. One thing I notice about practice is that no one really wants to do it. They’ll use any excuse they can to get out of it. MY favorite excuse is that I don’t know what to paint/draw/make love to/ whatever. That’s when the Every Day Matters group comes in. They have a continiously growing list of everyday matters that make Every Day Matter. Today, number 1, is “Draw a Shoe”.

Figure Mondays 02DEC2013
I’m a bit rusty on my figure drawing. So, aside from the nightly 5 minute nudes, I’ll be doing some figure drawing on monday nights.
